A Rush of Blood To The Head

Vagina Dentata, on film

Every Rose Has Its Thorns

One good thing to do when you feel tired after a hard day’s work is to watch a movie with a twisted plot. so I watch Teeth, a movie by Mitchell Lichtenstein. This was first shown in Sundance last year (2007).

The story is about a girl with a vagina dentata–a condition where the vagina has teeth. The movie is hilarious in the sense that the plot alone gives you stomach stiches. I will not discuss the movie here so you can enjoy it.

The movie is widely available in DVD.

My Stress Buster (every Friday Night)

Laughter is the best medicine. Friday nights is reserved for treadmill and watching “Ang Spoiled,” a segment in Bubble Gang, over GMA Channel 7 (Philippines). This is a guilty pleasure–watching Yaya (Michael V.) and Angelina (Ogie Alcasid) outdoing each other is just damn funny. The duo is so at ease at each other, and the role that they are in. It looks very natural (a good indicator of a good comedian).

Ogie is fantastic as the bitchy, spoiled brat who always makes life miserable for Michael V, being an uneducated, promdi yaya.

If you got the chance, watch it. Just forget political undertones and correctness for a while. An example of the video below.

News Most Hideous

The robbery-massacre on RCBC branch in Laguna, Philippines was brutal. All bank personnel were killed, all in the head. It is condemned by the Filipino people, and speedy investigation on the crime should be done.

I agree with the Inquirer’s opinion that tighter gun control should be set in place. This has been Nandy Pacheco’s echo too. She is from Gunless Society, an NGO adhering for gun control. Read Inquirer’s Editorial “Monsters with Guns.”

Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones

I am excited to watch the new (4th) Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It will be opened in Manila theaters on May 22, 2008. The early film reviews were good, after it was shown in Cannes 2008. Could this be the last installment? We will see.
