Brandon Boyd, the lead frontman of Incubus, has a new CD called “The Wild Trapeze.”
Daniel Craig is officially cast as Mikael Blomkvist in the Hollywood adaptation of the trilogy books: “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” “The Girl Who Played With Fire” and “The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest.”
Who will be cast as Lisbeth Salander? Natalie Portman has already denied the rumor that she is being offered the role.
While reading blogs about Inception reviews, I came across a news that Ellen Page is being considered for the Hollywood version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. This is based on the Millenium Trilogy book of Stieg Larsson. Other actress being considered are Natalie Portman and Carey Mulligan.
But among the three, Ellen Page closely fit the description. She can look a little Asian, which Lisbeth is in the book. I don’t know how she will look with tattoos, but I trust the director for that. I read the three books, and it was enjoyable—something that can be done into a movie (although there really is a movie version in Sweden now). With Hollywood producers doing a remake, the action-packed sequences in the book will look awesome on screen.
My next running event is the Rexona Run 2010 to be held on August 01, 2010 at the SM Mall of Asia complex. I will be joining 5K again. This must be the most high-tech registration I had, because you have to input your information not on paper registration form, but rather online using iPad. Talk about efficiency. Aside from that, each registrant was given their own RunRio ID card that will be used for future running events sponsored by RunRio.
It seems that the running community in Manila is catching up with some of the world’s best. The lace tag to be used is patterned after that of New York Marathon. This is a “first” also, since previous runs that I joined uses a chip.
The singlet looks nice, in black and gold ensemble. And for me, I am doing my running practice routinely so I can beat my personal time of 27minutes.
No turning back for me.
Horses are replaced by rusty four-wheeled vehicle fit for mountainous terrain. And it is a MUST that you ride on the roof, unlike some Manila-based yuppies who prefer the seats inside. By the way, the whole place stinks of dead meat, like you’re in some forsaken wild, wild, west. Creepy but exciting, nonetheless. Go north, Go Middle Earth.
When I saw this from the horizon going to Middle Earth, it looks as if I returned to Cameron Highlands in Malaysia last year. But no, it looks like it from afar but is more wonderful. After 12 long hour drive, and intermittent sleep, the entrance to paradise is within reach. Go North, go Middle Earth.
