The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind

I enjoyed reading this book by William Kamkwamba, about how his windmill creation became the tipping point for his life, and his family’s to improve tremendously. Dropped out of school in Malawi due to poverty, he continuously read books in the library, especially Physics (and much much curiosity) which became his drive to tinker with things to create a makeshift windmill.

The windmill gave light to his room, and eventually to his entire house and village. It also help with irrigation and water for drinking, which help improve diarrhea cases in his community.

His invention led him to be discovered by foreigners, and was invited to speak in TED forum, and World Economic Forum Africa. Very inspiring!
